The first single with the new members, NEW HORIZON, was released on June 23rd and topped the sale rankings for that week. With that, EXILE became a 19-member group. The final was held at Nippon Budokan on April 27th, and performers Iwata Takanori from Sandaime, Shirahama Alan and Sekiguchi Mady from GENERATIONS, and two new members Yamamoto Sekai and Sato Taiki were announced as the winners and new EXILE members. In 2013, leader Hero announced he would stop promoting as a performer and would remain mostly behind the scenes, as CEO of LDH and handing the production behing EXILE and their related groups. The group remained in the top 3 best selling artists of the year for 20. In 2010, they also won for the third time in a row the Japan Record Award for their song I Wish For You, becoming the second artist in the award's history to win the award three times (the first being Ayumi Hamasaki in 2001, 20). On May 19 2010, EXILE released the song 太陽の国 (Tayou no Kuni), written by Yasushi Akimoto, for the 20th anniversary of the accedence of the Emperor Akihito. On March 2009, it was announce that all members from Nidaime J Soul Brothers, the second generation of J Soul Brothers, would join EXILE to become a 14-member group, with 2 vocalists: ATSUSHI and TAKAHIRO, 2 vocalists & performers: NESMITH and SHOKICHI, and 10 performers: Hiro, Matsu, USA, Makidai, Akira, Kenchi, Keiji, TETSUYA, NAOTO and Naoki. In 2008, EXILE also won their first Japan Record Award (one of Japan's most prestigious music awards, similar to the American Grammy Award), for the song Ti Amo. Around 10 thousand people over the age of 18 signed up for the competition, and on September 22nd at Nippon Budokan arena, TAKAHIRO was announced as the winner and new vocalist of EXILE.ĮXILE's popularity with the new members kept growing, and 2008 the group eventually became the best selling artist of the year in Japan, with their album EXILE LOVE becoming the selling album of 2008, with other two of the group's compilation albums also inside the top 10. From July to September of the same year, EXILE held their first VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION to find a substitute vocalist for Shun.
